da jogodeouro: The Mirror recently reported that Premier League champions Manchester City have been looking at Swansea’s 20-year-old centre-back Joe Rodon, but the youngster must not have his head turned and should continue his development at the Liberty Stadium.
What’s the situation?
da esport bet: Swansea currently sit 11th in the Championship under new boss Graham Potter after their relegation from the top-flight last season, but they are clearly still playing some attractive football as has been their style in recent years.
The Swans have now won four, drawn five and lost three games in the league, but in part thanks to Rodon they have only conceded nine goals in those 12 matches.
The young defender has made ten appearances so far this term alongside 25-year-old Mike van der Hoorn and has been a revelation in his first full season in the Swans’ squad. Rodon, who was born in Swansea, was also called up to the Welsh national squad for the first time this week after Newcastle man Paul Dummett was forced to withdraw through injury.

Where to develop?
If the interest from City is serious, Rodon would have to decide where is best for the development of his game. Of course the Manchester giants have possibly the best manager in the world and excellent facilities but the Welshman would be so far down the order that he could easily stall.
At Swansea though he has been getting regular game time and could certainly help the club in their aim to be promoted back to the Premier League under Potter.
The Englishman made his name as a manager at Swedish side OstersundsFK after a journeyman career as a player predominantly in the Football League, and he took the minnows from the fourth tier to the top division for the first time in their history within just five years, before then propelling them into the Europa League.
Rodon’s contract at the Liberty is up in the summer, but the Swans must tie him down for the next few years for the good of their club and the player’s interests.
