da bet esporte： Jose Mourinho is back in the Premier League, this time with Manchester United after two previous spells with Chelsea. ‘Mou’ is one of the world’s most successful managers and will now be in the hot-seat of one of the planet’s most successful clubs.

Manchester United finished in a dismal 5th place last season, a position that is widely regarded as failure for the majority of their fans. Mourinho on the other hand, didn’t even complete the season after being sacked in December by Roman Abramovich. Chelsea’s campaign was completely diabolical and the Blues finished in 10th place, nine positions lower than the previous year where Mourinho led them to the title. It was the worst title defence in Premier League history.
Clearly there are two sides to Mourinho, plenty of advantages and plenty of disadvantages, so here are some pros and cons for the Man United fans to be excited and wary of over the next few months…
Pro: Players LOVE him
Players adore Mourinho and Jose gets his team to play out of their skin. When Mourinho left Inter Milan in 2010, he and the players were in tears as they parted. Mourinho loves to get stuck in with the celebrations and his players will adapt to his methods very quickly.
Con: Players HATE him
On the contrary to the previous slide, some players absolutely loathe ‘The Special One’. Juan Mata in particular will not be particularly keen to be playing for Mourinho yet again; the Spaniard was completely shut out of the Chelsea side during his second tenure at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea’s awful season was largely down to plenty of players having disagreements with Mourinho and heated arguments that led to a breakdown in the morale of the team.
Pro: Success
Love him or hate him, Mourinho literally breathes success. The 51 year old rarely goes a season without silverware and has won almost every trophy around while breaking records every other game. Mourinho has won the UEFA Cup (the Europa League), the Champions League, the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Coppa Italia, Copa Del Rey, the League Cup and the FA Cup. Mourinho even boasts the record for the highest points total in a Premier League season, 95, which surpassed Arsene Wenger’s ‘Invincibles’.
Con: Media attention
Mourinho is prone to a controversial comment or two. Whether it comes from announcing that he is ‘The Special One’ or calling a rival manager, a ‘Specialist in Failure’, Mourinho is far from the role model figure that Manchester United have had in charge in the past. Of course, Premier League players and managers are in the public eye 24/7, but Mourinho’s approach to matches may alter Manchester United’s reputation from being a classy club to a controversial one.

Pro: New signings
It is no secret that Manchester United need to improve. Mourinho will bring back the factor that Sir Alex Ferguson had, which is that players will want to move to Old Trafford. Robin van Persie said that Alex Ferguson was the key factor in him deciding to move to Manchester United and a manager of Mourinho’s calibre is bound to have the same effect on top players.

Con: Style of Play
And to finish off, Mourinho’s boring style. Manchester United were appalling in front of goal last season, but were pretty solid at the back. This style is very similar to that of Mourinho – ‘The Special One’ famously ‘parks the bus’ and grinds out results. Fans were continuously chanting ‘Boring, Boring Chelsea’ through the 2014/15 season to Jose’s side, whilst United fans were heard singing for the team to ‘attack’ last term. Mourinho will not alter United’s style of play but will perhaps increase the club’s chances of success. Is football all about trophies, or is it the beautiful game?
