Everton visit the Olympic Stadium today and Carlo Ancelotti is looking to make it back-to-back wins against West Ham, and his first away win since the victory over Newcastle at the end of 2019.To do so, he has made four changes to the starting eleven that ground out a narrow 1-0 win over Brighton last time out, and with Dominic Calvert-Lewin going three games without a goal he will be determined to find the target once again. It promises to be a fiery atmosphere in East London with home supporters planning to protest, so it will be intriguing to see how the Toffees deal with that, and if the hosts step up their performance as a result.Watch Everton Videos With StreamFootball.tv Below
Ancelotti’s changes see Fabian Delph, Seamus Coleman, Yerry Mina and Moise Kean coming in for Richarlison, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Michael Keane and Djibril Sidibe, and fans are particularly happy to see Kean starting for the first time in 2020.
It is a bold call to start Kean given he has no goals in 20 appearances this season, particularly as Calvert-Lewin is more than capable of leading the line by himself, as his goalscoring record around Christmas evidenced.
Youngster Anthony Gordon has also earned a place on the bench in a move which fans are very supportive of, with the midfielder having impressed for the under 23s this term, making 10 goal contributions in 13 games.
Call yourself an Everton expert? How much did each of these January signings cost?
However, given he is yet to make his professional debut it is also a bit of a surprise that he has been included, but Ancelotti’s bravery to put him on the bench does have a chance of paying off.
In other news, Everton could make a take a big step to improving their chances this season with an important off-field development.
