The heat has ramped up on Marco Silva after Everton’s lacklustre 2-0 defeat against Norwich.
The Toffees are having an incredibly topsy-turvy season but the pressure has never been greater on the Portuguese head coach with his side now sitting just four points above those in the relegation places.
Who succeeds him if he gets sacked remains to be seen but there are three names in particular who appear to be doing the rounds at the moment.
One of those is former Everton player Mikel Arteta, according to The Mirror. However, per Sky Sports, David Moyes and Eddie Howe are also in the running.
The thought of Howe arriving, however, is doing little to please a segment of Everton fans who took to Twitter to vent about the possibility of the Bournemouth boss arriving.
One fan suggested they could have another Mike Walker situation on their hands. He took charge of the club for ten months in 1994 but finished with a win percentage of just 17%.
Supporters aren’t convinced Howe would be the answer to their problems as another stated he’d be like Roberto Martinez and Silva when it comes to defending. Bournemouth have conceded just three fewer goals than Everton in 2019/20.
Here’s the best of the reaction from around social media.
Meanwhile, Everton could have a job on their hands if they want to secure Mikel Arteta…
