Patino was once hailed as Gunners' next great midfielder after scoring on his debut in 2021 in the Carabao Cup quarter-final against Sunderland, but his career has taken a different path following loan spells at Blackpool and Swansea. His move to the Blue and Whites marked a fresh start, and while his first year in Spain was underwhelming, the English midfielder now feels settled. With Deportivo determined to return to La Liga, Patino’s development could be central to their ambitions and his own career revival.
WHAT CHARLIE PATINO SAID
"I just went to England and thought about last season and worked hard physically and mentally," he said. "I felt stronger again, stronger mentally and physically, and I wanted to be ready for the season. I thought about the fans and showing them I was ready.
"There's a feeling in the locker room that we're going to have a great season. Everyone is very confident. We want to reach the First Division, where this club belongs."
