The Paris Saint-Germain attacker confirmed his departure on Instagram, with The Scotsman reporting he was told to leave the club by manager Neil Lennon having turned down the opportunity to appear in the Scottish Cup Final at the end of the month.
The 19-year-old is set to link up with the United States for the U20 World Cup in Poland, but The Scotsman say the teenager would have been allowed to return to Glasgow to train with the team before the clash against Hearts – something he reportedly refused.
As a result, Lennon told him to pack his bags on Friday, with the same report stating that the Northern Irishman saw it as a lack of commitment on the American’s part.
His spell with the Scottish Premiership champions probably didn’t work out as expected for both parties, with three goals and one assist arriving in 11 outings in all competitions.

Celtic supporters have taken to social media to have their say on the situation, and while one labelled it as “poor from Lennon”, another said “Weah will be a fine player in years to come”.
